CSI#241 casefile with sketch

The leaves are finally changing and the world is aglow with warm color here in Maryland, so we're celebrating autumn with our first November Case File. Our Scene inspiring this challenge is from Tokkoro. Don't have autumn photos? No worries! The color scheme is very versatile and suitable for just about any theme.

Its Autumn, lets go outside

I always love this time of year

Out and about on a sunny day

Rustling through Autumns golden gown

Home to the crackle of logs on the fire

Mesmerised by the coloured flames dance

Autumn is my favourite time of year

Like nature herself, I have strewn leaves and flowers randomly all over the page.

The leaves have random gilding flake enhancement, and pearls adorn the centre of each handmade bloom.

There are 4 styles of woodgrain on this layout;

  1. Crackle paste through wood-grain stencil
  2. Woodgrain paper
  3. Wooden alphabet
  4. Crackle wood window frame

EVIDENCE:

  • Stripes- in the wood paper
  • Watercolor- adds colour to background
  • Architectural elements- window frame
  • Leaves- die cut and scattered about
  • Wood/woodgrain -4 types (see above)
  • Vellum-bottom centre

TESTIMONY:

  • Topic: Document something about autumn
  • Writing Format: Write a free verse poem. Try Magnetic Poetry for fun.
  • Inspiration Words: outside, wish, calm

Oh, my, Debbie...what a beautiful layout ! You did a wonderful job with the sketch, and with the Autumn theme. The attention to detail is apparent throughout the page. I love the little white and red beads, as well as the pearls you used as flower centers. The bits of gold gilding on the leaves is, again, a small detail that adds a special touch. I also love the treatment given to the wood letters for the title. Lovely photos. Who doesn't love autumn. It is my favorite time of year as well. Thank you for sharing your work with us at CSI.
